Beracah Homes Completes Expansion Of The Dover Modern Maturity Center

Dover, DE - For over forty two years, the Modern Maturity Center, a membership based non-profit organization in Dover, has been providing classes, programs and services to enhance the quality of life, with respect and dignity, to individuals aged 50 and over. With everything from a wellness center to help keep members fit, to organized social activities and trips, to regularly scheduled games, lessons, and classes, the Modern Maturity Center does everything it can to ensure its members maintain an active and social lifestyle. Recently, the MMC’s board of directors determined their organization was outgrowing their existing medical building. To solve their problem, they turned to Beracah Homes.

Beracah Homes and Green Diamond Builders, a Beracah preferred builder, worked together on a project to expand and update the existing Modern Maturity Center medical building for the twenty first century. The process was much more cost efficient than building an entirely new building, prevented the hassle of moving to a new location, and allowed the MMC to continue operating while the expansion project took place.

The design of the 13,599 square foot expansion compliments the existing structure, seamlessly blending the old with the new. The result was not only a building that looks new from the outside, but also has significant improvements on the inside as well. The addition includes a large open space for community use, additional office space, and improved kitchen, dining, and sitting areas. The two story facility also includes many multiple use design features, to make the space efficient, practical and comfortable. A ceremonial ribbon cutting was held on June 15th, 2011 to celebrate the project’s completion. 

“The completed expansion allows us to better serve our members and the community. We’re thrilled with the end result, and are excited about the new opportunities the additional space provides us. The building is beautiful” said Carolyn Fredericks, executive director at the Modern Maturity Center.
