Cottages: New Low-Cost Alternative to Assisted Living
It seems we live in an ever-changing world where cost of living appears to increase before our eyes. This trend is making it extremely difficult for the aging population to afford reasonable living accommodations. As a solution to this developing dilemma, Beracah Homes has begun to expand its efforts to address a community need that has remained fairly untouched until this point.
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are an exciting new concept that allow for handicapped individuals or aging parents to maintain their independence, while remaining close to their families. An ADU is a free-standing structure, less than 1,200 square feet, that is constructed on a property with an already existing dwelling. This ADU may be occupied by an aging or handicapped family member, or may be rented out to provide additional income to the family living in the existing dwelling.
